While I did not hesitate to give Eva 5 stars in all categories, I would have given 6 stars for negotiation skills if possible... When we put in an offer on our home, there were other offers that were very competitive. I believe that Eva had drawn up an excellent contract which initially made the seller select our offer over the others. At this point my wife and I were extremely excited and ready to sign the contract, but Eva was able to make a few other adjustments which which the seller agreed to before the deal was finished(The new roof was great last winter!). My parents and I bought a house in Seattle with Eva and her colleague, Tara Farquhar-Hagen in 2014. We could not have asked for a better team than Eva and Tara. They helped us navigate an extremely tough market with humor and cunning, ultimately helping us buy an amazing house in a far better location than we’d set our sights on. We looked in Central and South Seattle, and they knew these neighborhoods very well. Both were great at listening to our goals for a home and making insightful recommendations. They were open to our ideas and desires, but also good at keeping us down-to-earth, whether it meant talking us out of homes that looked cute but had structural problems we couldn’t see or keeping us from getting caught up in bidding wars that would result in us paying far more than a house was worth. They always made time to go on viewings, and even would go on our behalf if we were unavailable. We especially appreciated that if they spotted something wrong with a house right away – for instance, poor foundation – they would cut things off rather than wasting our time with visiting it. We ultimately ended up buying a mid-century fixer-upper in Madison Valley. It was an estate sale, and we never would have found it – nor seen its potential – without Tara and Eva acting fast, checking it out and sending us video while we were at work, and talking us through its potential. They were great at getting inspectors out that day and even talking with the neighbors to get more information on the sewer line. During the offer process, they had excellent strategies for working with the sellers’ agent and made sure that our offer was the most attractive, even though there were other offers that were the same amount. They were highly responsive and extremely knowledgeable about the market and the buying process. They stuck with us through a long closing process and were wonderful about working with the escrow and title companies and keeping us in-the-loop. Now that we’ve closed, Tara and Eva are still in touch to provide recommendations on contractors and even arranged for a locksmith to come change the keys before handing them off to us. The Brandenburg Team, Eva & Tara, were our buying agents for the home that my fiancee and I just bought. It was our very first home and we had been looking on and off mostly on RedFin for two years. We went to at least 40 open houses over that time span but were demoralized by the throngs of people at the open houses, the escalating prices and multiple offer for most homes in our area. Whether you are buying or selling a house (or both at the same time) it's a very stressful experience. Eva helps manage the stress. She has helped us both in the selling and buying process. She is an ACE at negotiation and her strategies are right on. In this multiple offer climate you need her in your corner. We worked with Tara and Eva this past summer to list and sell our house in just five days. The success of the sale was really all about the preparation, planning, and research done by our team. Prior to listing the house Tara visited and allowed us to see the house through the eyes of a buyer. She helped us to see what needed to be purged and how our home should be staged to sell. Eva and Tara worked with us via email to find comps in our neighborhood. This was helpful in letting us know what we would be able to expect for our house and to insure the house was priced correctly. They were open to my husband and I finding additional comparable sells in the area to get a better range of prices. Pricing of our house was key to it selling, and selling fast. Eva and Tara’s advice to have our home “vacant and staged” was great. We were out of our house for 4 days which allowed prospective buyer to visit the house as much and as often as they wanted to feel comfortable making an offer. We have small children and having to keep the house “view ready” at a moments notice was not easy. Thankfully the majority of the viewers had at least initially viewed the home while we were away. The remaining viewings were from serious buyers and we didn’t mind packing up and leaving one bit. In the end we had multiple offers on our home. Eva and Tara worked hard to help and bring some of these offers to the table explained what each of the offers were and gave their recommendation for accepting an offer. Since it was the first time selling a home for us, the multiple offers were a bit intimidating. After talking through the offers with Eva she was able to contact the prospective buyers agent and helped to negotiate an offer that better suited our needs, knowing that there were several people interested. We were sad to leave our home in West Seattle, but happy to have the process move quickly and efficiently. Tara and Eva are quite the team!

My 5-star rating isn't an exaggeration or generosity -- Eva absolutely exceeds expectations. As a fairly young (mid-20s), unmarried couple with no home-buying experience and a modest budget, real estate was a big mystery with lots of possible complications and points of confusion. From our first meeting with Eva, she was straight-forward, encouraging, and helpful. She answered every question honestly and clearly. She gave solid recommendations. She was 100% knowledgeable and prepared. And, she was a fun person to be around. We felt comfortable and excited, not at all pressured to buy. On our first day touring homes, Eva listened carefully as we drove around neighborhoods and walked through houses. She pointed out lots of info we would have missed on our own. She adjusted our list of prospective houses accordingly, so we wouldn't waste time at unrealistic homes (ex: ruling out a house with a floorplan I was sure to dislike), and she never stepped outside our price range. When we (surprisingly? accidentally?) fell in love with the 4th or 5th house we visited that day, Eva provided some pros and cons, took us to see another house or two for comparison, and gave us time to think. We decided this was our house, with excitement rather than fear or hesitancy. It was so early in our home-buying search that we weren't even approved for a loan yet. In our whole home-buying process, we had one single day of stress (waiting for loan approval). The rest was fun and exciting. In the 2 years since then, we've seen and heard from Eva often. She's very knowledgeable about service providers in Seattle (plumbers, etc), and sends friendly reminders about general house maintenance (we'd probably miss this stuff otherwise). She's also wonderfully social, and we've met other fun people through her. I truly wish I knew more looking to buy or sell a house, because Eva is amazing and I can't recommend her enough.

Eva achieved what my wife and I feared to be the impossible - twice! We moved to Seattle when my wife accepted a transfer with her company. We were under a time restraint to purchase our first home due to 1031 transfer qualification requirements. At the height of the real estate bubble, I had the good fortune to meet Eva Brandenburg. I had interviewed 3-4 realtors referred by friends or co-workers, none stood out like Eva. We met over coffee and just explored my situation and got to know each other. We made the list of “must have”, “would be nice” and “no way” before we started. We did market research before we ever set out and her referral circle is amazing! Her transparency in communicating the pro’s and con’s of each property were objective and matched to my own individual list. The buyer accepted my offer and Eva held my hand to escrow. We overhauled the walls, plumbing, electrical, paint and yard in 6 weeks and moved in on Halloween. About a week later, we got an 8x10 original photo of our home from some historic archives from Eva. Every year, we would stay in touch and get together, often at one of her famous holiday parties to carve pumpkins or drink mulled spice wine. We moved out of the area and rented our place for a while, but when my mom got ill and we lost our excellent renters. At the same time, my mom became terminally ill and I stopped working to care for her. We made the decision to sell our Seattle home in 2015, when the market was just barely recovering. By this time, Eva had a partner and we met Tara, who embodied the same interpersonal excellence and friendliness as Eva, but with her own style and interests. We let them know our situation and talked over the phone. We got them keys and they did a walk through assessment and gave us a task list, timeline and contacts…then offered to make it happen. Tara loved our garden and came by to keep our flowers alive for curbside appeal. My husband went up on a few weekends to work through the task list. Whatever we couldn’t do, Tara, Eva's partner, was able to pick up the slack. They had a solid market strategy and market timing plan that we kept to. When we listed, we got 11 viable offers, which we reviewed all together virtually to walk through all the pro’s and con’s with the same transparency, integrity and kind honesty I remembered. After having the place be under market from the recession, were able to recover our investment and turn about a 30% profit.
